the survey
Although there are many estimates and surveys out there that provide us with varying percentages of the amount of seniors that exhibit Senioritis, we decided to go out and find out ourselves. We randomly picked and surveyed 30 high school seniors from University High School. To do this, we went online to Facebook and picked every 3rd Uni Senior from the list of 140 online people. After their permission, each student was asked the following questions:
Compared to freshman year, do you feel an increase in any of the following. Answer yes or no for each.
- Lack of motivation
- Panic/anxiety attacks
-Severing of social ties
- Disregard for authority figures such as teachers.
- Disregard for the consequences
- Extreme apathy
Our results were that a total of 60 percent of the students surveyed claimed to exhibit at least half of these major Senioritis symptoms, while 45 percent of them even claimed to have 4 or more of the symptoms! This study shows that, in regards to University High School, 60 percent of it's senior population is likely to be afflicted with some degree of Senioritis.

Azael Paz, a current senior at University High School, tells his terrifying tale about his life with the big S, SENIORITIS. He recounts his story, self-describing himself as a bright and motivated student at the beginning of the school year. He tells us he remembers diligently doing his homework every night, always being presentable, and having a great sense of priorities. However, misfortune struck this poor young man and he soon began to lose momentum.
" I thought it was like any other grade, mid-year you begin to get a little lazy. No biggie! You just gritted your teeth and continued on like nothing and soon enough you were done and had been through another successful year!" - Azael
However, he soon came to find that this was something that he had never encountered before. It wasn't after doing noticeably worse in class, having thoughts of ditching school, eating whenever or wherever he pleased, having complete apathy in appearance or academics, and sleeping during lectures that he began to realize, he had Senioritis. Please continue reading to read the exclusive mid-year report of our patient.

Day 102:
Hello everyone, I am here again...writing about my experiences. Seeing as how I am now half-way through this study I am suppose to do a quick recap of what I've gone through. Before Senior year I can say I got along pretty well with everyone. You know nothing to complain *haha*. I would be able to find a balance between my sports, academics, and still find time to hang out with my friends. And now...well oh boy. I find myself out of the house more and more every week, ignoring and escaping all responsibilities. I have been having strained relationships with my parents and any authority figure as a matter of fact. I've been very quick to snap lately. However, curiously enough, I have found that a temporary cure for this is to eat, continuously. Curiously sandwiches seem to work the best and my morning diet consists of a sandwich every day. However, I have yet to look more into that and I fear that I don't really care to or even want to look into it. That is another thing. I really do not care. Judge me all you want! Instead of doing homework I find myself eating, playing puppet with my cat, or messing around on the computer. I also find myself falling asleep spontaneously. On the bus, on my bed, on my couch, in class, everywhere. The other I fell asleep...STANDING UP IN THE BUS.I really need help. Please help me. Before I go crazy, sleep the year away, get fat, or before i keep on leaning on strangers and sleeping on them in the bus. I don't think they like it very much. I need help. I did not understand before but now I see what Senioritis is. It is not just laziness. Simply, it is just not giving one single fu......
